Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with patient assessment and treatment under supervision in an inpatient setting in Illinois. You will document care progression, administer modalities, and contribute to departmental records and charges.

The role requires graduation from an OTA program, current or eligible OT/L license in the state, BLS certification, and ideally one year of experience; new grads are considered. Mercy offers strong benefits and tuition support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• BLS certification.
• One year experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient upon receiving direction from O.T.R./L. and according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and the continuing need for treatment according to departmental policy.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies and procedures on standards of treatment care.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient according to departmental policies regarding documentation and charges.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous job duties observed as directed by the Inpatient PhysicalMedicine Supervisor.
