Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the inpatient team in Illinois. You will assist with patient assessments, document care plans, and administer therapeutic modalities under department guidelines.

The role emphasizes accurate progress notes, adherence to policies, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, serving neonatal to geriatric patients. BLS certification and an OTA license or eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Current license or eligibility for licensure as OTA in state of practice.
• BLS certification is required and current.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessment and follow departmental policies.
• Document patient care including progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer modalities and exercise programs per policies.
• Maintain progress notes and department records for charges and care.
• Support department education initiatives.
• Demonstrate knowledge of care needs across age groups from neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform duties assigned by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
