Job summary

Mercy in Illinois seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient team. You will assist with patient assessments, document care progression, and implement treatment plans under supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, promoting department education, applying standard modalities, and supporting care for diverse age groups from neonatal to geriatric. BLS certification and state licensure eligibility required; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license or eligibility for licensure as an OTA in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• One year experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessments as directed.
• Document course of patient care including progress notes.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of needs across neonatal to geriatric age groups.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
