Job summary

Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will document treatment, monitor progress toward goals, and support therapy across inpatients, outpatients, pediatrics and other sites.

The role involves assisting with assessments, coordinating with the health team, and adapting equipment for home and work environments.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates applicability of age-specific standards and guidelines for pediatric to geriatric patients.
• General computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
• Analytical abilities to evaluate patient condition, progress and response to therapy.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with co-workers, physicians, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient treatment under supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Document patient treatment and progress in the electronic health record.
• Maintain accurate records of treatment and patient progress.
• Collaborate with the OT and health team to coordinate treatment plans.
• Assess daily living skills to determine abilities and limitations.
• Assist in adapting equipment for home/work environments.
