Job summary

Lourdes Medical Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The COTA provides direct patient care under supervision, assists with therapies and documentation, and supports quality and compliance in rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities include communicating patient progress to the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team, instructing families or nursing staff in home programs, and maintaining equipment and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Licensed and eligible to practice as a COTA in the state where services are rendered.
• CPR certification required.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of an OT, assist with interventions and documentation.
• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post-treatment charges to patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
