Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Perrysburg, OH is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The role involves documenting treatment and progress in the electronic health record and applying established rehabilitation programs across outpatients, inpatients, pediatrics and other sites.

You will collaborate with the therapy team, assist in assessment of daily living skills, and help design adaptive equipment.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
• BLS Basic Life Support required within 30 days for BSMH and at hire for RSFH; preferred upon hire for some sites.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment and patient progress.
• Collaborates with the Occupational Therapist and health team to plan, modify and coordinate treatment.
• Assesses client daily living skills to determine abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment in home/work environments.
