Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Lourdes Hospital to provide patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will document progress, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to support the continuum of care.

The role requires licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the current practice state, with BLS and additional credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist and monitors response to treatment.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment and patient progress.
• Observes and reports patients’ responses to treatment and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborates with the OT and health team to plan and modify treatment programs.
• Assists in assessing daily living skills to determine abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment for patients’ working and living environments.
