Job summary

Withum is seeking a Cost Segregation Senior Associate to join our Forensic & Valuation Services group. This role can be based at any U.S.

office and follows a hybrid schedule with in-office presence three days per week; ideal for candidates in the New York metro area willing to travel for site visits. You will lead engineering‑based cost segregation studies, review depreciation schedules and construction documents, mentor junior staff, and support business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related fields.
• 3–5 years in cost segregation or related real estate tax work.
• CPA/EA/CCSP/PE preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of MACRS depreciation and tangible property regulations.
• Ability to interpret architectural/engineering docs.
• Excellent client management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost segregation studies for various property types.
• Review cost docs, depreciation schedules, appraisals, blueprints.
• Conduct site visits and document building systems.
• Prepare engineering-based reports meeting IRS guidelines.
• Research depreciation rules and bonus depreciation.
• Mentor Associates and support business development.
