Job summary

Withum is seeking a Cost Segregation Senior Associate to join our growing Forensic & Valuation Services team. The role supports clients across many industries and can be based in multiple U.S. office locations with a three-day in-office expectation each week.

You will analyze construction costs, depreciation, and asset classifications, collaborate with engineers and real estate specialists, and mentor junior team members while driving project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in accounting, finance, engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of cost segregation, fixed asset consulting, real estate tax, valuation, engineering or related experience is expected.
• Strong understanding of MACRS depreciation, cost segregation methodologies, and tangible property regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost segregation studies for new, existing and renovated properties.
• Review construction cost documentation, depreciation schedules, appraisals, blueprints, and fixed asset records.
• Conduct site visits and document building systems and asset classifications.
• Prepare engineering-based cost segregation reports meeting IRS guidelines and industry standards.
• Research federal tax regulations related to depreciation, capitalization and tangible property regulations.
• Identify fixed asset planning opportunities and provide tax-saving recommendations.
• Manage multiple engagements and collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, and internal professionals to ensure timely delivery.
• Review work of Associates and provide coaching and technical guidance.
