Job summary

Withum is seeking a Cost Segregation Associate for its Forensic & Valuation Services. The role can be based in numerous U.S. offices and requires a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office per week.

You will collaborate with tax professionals, engineers, and real estate specialists to deliver cost segregation analyses across diverse asset types and industries, growing specialized knowledge in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Pursuit of CPA/EA/CCSP or other certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost segregation studies for various real estate properties.
• Review cost documentation, depreciation schedules, invoices, and asset records.
• Analyze building components and asset classifications per tax guidance.
• Support site visits and document systems and assets.
• Prepare workpapers, calculations, and schedules for reports.
• Research tax regulations and depreciation methodologies.
• Support senior team members with data gathering and reporting.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary information.
• Maintain engagement files and ensure timely work.
• Learn cost segregation methodologies and industry best practices.
• Stay current on tax law developments in real estate taxation.
