Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Manager V in Austin to supervise the Cost Report Review Unit, overseeing Medicaid and non-Medicaid cost examinations. The role ensures accuracy and compliance with GAAP, TAC and federal/state rules, while shaping workflows and policy guidance.

As a senior manager, you’ll mentor staff, coordinate external communications, and lead critical financial analyses for reimbursement determinations. Telework is eligible and travel is modest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• At least 2 years in financial examination or Medicaid reimbursement.
• 1 year supervisory or team-leading experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of financial examinations.
• Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and workpapers.
• Hire/train staff and provide technical guidance.
• Communicate complex information to internal/external stakeholders.
• Lead external meetings and respond to inquiries.
