Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Director of Cost Management to lead and develop a team of Cost Managers and oversee the delivery of cost management services for large-scale construction programs. You will drive commercial performance, manage client relationships, and provide strategic leadership to project teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, business development, and rigorous cost control across diverse market sectors; on-site presence may be required and is subject to client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years of cost management, quantity surveying, or commercial management experience.
• 2+ years leading cost management teams within a consulting environment.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience.
• Proven success delivering cost management services on complex construction projects.
• Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
• Experience supporting large-scale capital projects across sectors such as industrial manufacturing, advanced technology, data centers, life sciences, commercial real estate, or similar markets.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, change management, procurement support, and financial reporting.
• Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to cost management services across large-scale construction programs.
• Lead client communications and oversee cost management service delivery.
• Coordinate research on construction market conditions and industry trends; produce thought leadership reports.
• Manage resource planning, financial management, business development, and staff development for Cost Management Services.
• Set goals aligned with business objectives; drive team performance and inclusivity.
• Highlight lessons learned and share project information across the business.
• Develop risk mitigation plans, KPIs, and controls; coordinate audits and compliance.
