Job summary

ShawnTech Communications, Inc. is seeking a trustworthy Telecommunications Technician to support inmate technologies within a correctional facility.

The role covers phones, video visitation systems, inmate tablets, and daily data entry, with emphasis on reliable, secure service. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and servicing inmate tech, maintaining onsite telecom and networking hardware and cabling, coordinating with facility personnel and vendors, and delivering on-site training.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in telecommunications, including inmate systems.
• 2 years of experience with computer/network installation and repair.
• High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Must pass criminal background screens.
• Experience with wireless networking and cabling is preferred.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cable testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and servicing issues with inmate technology systems.
• Maintain, repair, and operate onsite telecom, networking hardware/software, access points, and wiring at correctional facilities.
• Address basic telephone repair and maintenance needs of the facility.
• Meet all service requirements as set forth by the customer contract.
• Build and maintain relationships with facility personnel and customer contacts; interface with correctional personnel, vendors, and contractors to resolve onsite problems.
• Monitor time and control service-related expenses.
• Deliver services in a timely and effective manner to ensure optimal system performance.
• Provide onsite instruction and training for site personnel, as necessary.
