Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain Florida State Corrections Certification.
• Seven years in a certified corrections role with four years as a supervisor and two as a sergeant.
• Completion of a command academy or ability to complete within 12 months; associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train, supervise, and evaluate corrections staff and conduct in-service training.
• Plan, organize, and implement goals; coordinate activities toward objectives.
• Oversee inmate custody and housing; monitor classification and counts.
• Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and safety standards; maintain records.
• Lead rounds and inspections; manage searches for contraband; oversee fire and safety.
• Attend Defensive Tactics training and firearm qualifications; participate in meetings.
