Job summary

Osceola County Sheriff's Office - Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon is seeking a Corrections Officer to supervise inmates and maintain security at the Osceola Correctional facility.

The role requires you to direct, monitor and care for inmates in a detention setting and to transport inmates as needed. The candidate must hold the Florida Corrections Certification, possess a valid Florida driver's license, be at least 18, and be able to work all shifts with overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess and maintain Florida State Corrections Certification.
• Valid Florida Driver's license required (CDL with passenger endorsement for inmate transport).

Responsibilities

• Provide care, custody and control of inmates in a detention facility and during transport.
• Perform rounds and inspections to ensure security, safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise inmate activities and enforce rules to maintain order.
• Attend training and maintain required certifications (Defensive Tactics, Firearm quals, First Aid/CPR).
• Maintain detailed records and reports related to inmate custody and facility operations.
