Job summary

Osceola County Corrections Department seeks a qualified Correctional Training Lieutenant to oversee planning, development, and evaluation of training for certified and civilian staff. The role requires directing the Training Sergeant and other personnel to ensure compliance with FDLE standards, accreditation, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Seven years in a certified corrections role with four years in a supervisory position.
• Minimum two years as a certified corrections sergeant.
• Must obtain jail manager certification within twelve months.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates Corrections staff according to procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Supports planning, organizing, and implementing Corrections goals and objectives.
• Manages care, custody, and control of inmates; may respond to escalated situations.
• Ensures compliance with laws, rules, and standards governing detention facilities.
• Handles rounds, inspections, inmate searches, and visitor screening.
• Attends Defensive Tactics training and firearm qualifications; stays updated on trends.
