Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of progressively responsible corrections experience with ≥1 year in a supervisory role.
• Education in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology or Psychology with experience equal to 3 years.
• Corrections experience includes direct service to detainees or supervision of offenders in programs; involves policy and discipline procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedule correctional staff for all shifts to ensure facility security.
• Enforce Department of Corrections policies and institutional IA's and procedures.
• Determine appropriate action in emergency situations and supervise staff to meet unit goals.
• Maintain security by inspecting posts and reviewing officers’ reports; keep logs and logs for offender counts.
• Coordinate offender movement and searches for contraband; participate in drills and staff training.
