Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Correction, Corrigan Correctional Center, is seeking a detail-oriented Correctional Identification And Records Specialist 1. This on-site role follows a Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm schedule.

You will maintain inmate/offender records, calculate sentences, and coordinate with courts and law enforcement to ensure accurate records and timely releases. Prior clerical experience in a corrections setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of clerical work experience.
• Two (2) years in maintenance of a complex clerical processing service statewide.
• College training may substitute for General Experience.
• High school diploma or GED by appointment.
• Knowledge of statutes and sentence calculation.
• Experience with FOI requests/redaction of information.

Responsibilities

• Maintains confidential facility/parole records for inmate identification.
• Calculates sentences for parole and discharge eligibility.
• Oversees release notices, furloughs, and transfers to recipients.
• Compiles and edits criminal records through agency communications.
• Assists in data compilation for statistical reports.
