Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a High school diploma or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review commitment documents to understand sentencing rules and update sentence information; ensure release dates are correct.
• Check computer calculations and manually calculate jail time credits, informing staff of changes.
• Collaborate with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Court Clerks to fix mistakes in commitment documents and clarify sentence details.
• Search the inmate information system to correct errors in inmate identification and ensure correct sentence details are entered in OBIS.
• Review new commitments after intake to determine if a new inmate number is needed or if an existing number can be used; update sentence details and recalc release dates.
• Identify repeat offenders and document post-release supervision violations, creating a paperwork trail and influencing policy/procedure updates.
