Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate cafeteria staff, train personnel, and manage daily operations in the kitchen and dining areas. You will ensure security within the cafeteria and work with inmate representatives to resolve issues.

You will also prepare the master menu, weekly cook's worksheets, and accurate orders, while meeting health inspections and maintaining equipment maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Must have related food service experience and supervisory capability.
• Certified ServSafe Manager or obtain certification within six months.
• Experience with large-scale quantity cooking and menu adherence.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires, evaluates and terminates inmate food service staff.
• Trains and instructs cooks, bakers, and dining staff in all duties.
• Supervises daily activities and maintains internal cafeteria security.
• Coordinates with inmate representatives to resolve issues.
• Prepares accurate weekly food orders and deliveries.
• Maintains cook worksheets per the master menu and 5-year records.
• Meets health, fire and OSHA inspections and ensures equipment upkeep.
• Attain ServSafe Manager certification within six months.
