Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to manage inmate food service operations in a correctional cafeteria. You will interview, hire and oversee cooks, bakers and dining staff, ensuring safety and quality in daily food preparation.

The role requires supervising the team, coordinating with inmate representatives, ensuring compliance with health, fire and OSHA inspections, and maintaining equipment maintenance records. ServSafe certification or timely attainment is required.

Qualifications

• Related food service experience.
• Experience in quantity and quality cooking.
• Must be ServSafe certified or attain certification within six months of employment.
• Must complete basic training upon hire.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires, evaluates and terminates inmate food service employees.
• Trains and instructs all kitchen and dining staff in duties.
• Supervises personnel in daily duties.
• Maintains internal security of cafeteria.
• Coordinates with inmate representative committee to resolve problems.
