Job summary

Summit is seeking an experienced assistant foodservice director to join the Corrections team in Norfolk, VA. You will oversee culinary, safety and sanitation, and all operations for the account, ensuring quality service and compliant practices.

As a leader, you will recruit and train a large staff, drive performance, and manage financial aspects to maintain profitability while delivering exceptional meals for inmates and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ supervisory experience.
• Minimum two years’ foodservice experience.
• Proven track record of financial responsibility.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and retain a large staffing team across roles (chefs, cashiers, baristas, cooks, catering).
• Ensure high quality food and friendly service.
• Operate the business in a professional, efficient, and profitable manner.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and clear communication with all employees.
