Job summary

Pennington County Jail is seeking a Booking Technician to manage inmate intake and release, control room operations, and maintain accurate inmate accounts. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and strict adherence to security procedures.

The Booking Technician will handle inmate property, deposits, and payments, while interacting with inmates, visitors, and professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is essential for inmate and public interactions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy are critical for booking and accounting tasks.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Control movement within the secure side of the facility, including inmates, visitors and staff.
• Book inmates in and out and maintain inmate accounts and payments.
• Operate the control room during shifts and monitor security cameras.
• Verify intake and release information and process inmate property.
• Serve as primary contact for inquiries to the clerk of courts, attorneys, and other partners.
• Attend trainings and perform related duties as assigned.
