Job summary

The State of Oklahoma's Department of Corrections seeks a Unit Manager (DOC) at Great Plains Correctional Center in OK. You will supervise a multidisciplinary team, oversee budget work programs, and coordinate with other institution operations to maintain a secure, humane unit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four years of correctional records management or social casework.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of the required experience.
• Experience in a professional admin position with inmate records or food service/maintenance management is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates unit staff; provides on-the-job training as required.
• Coordinates unit operations with other institution programs and operations.
• Administers budget work programs; procures equipment and negotiates food service contracts.
• Maintains offender records and ensures secure, humane unit environment.
• Chairs Unit Disciplinary and Classification Committee; may serve on institutional committees.
• Liaises with courts, Pardon and Parole Board, and elected officials.
• Submits reports on incidents, meals, leisure activities and significant events.
