Job summary

The State of Oklahoma's Department of Corrections is seeking a Deputy Warden for the Great Plains Correctional Center. This full-time, on-site leadership role directs the facility’s operational and administrative functions and serves as the primary assistant to the Warden.

Responsibilities include budget and resource management, oversight of security, health services, education and programs, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of planning, organizing and directing activities of a correctional institution.
• Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of others; communicate effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional level work experience in corrections or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Manage the facility's budget, staff, and resources in accordance with statutes, rules and policies.
• Oversee security, health services, education, and programmatic activities within the facility.
• Provide guidance on laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the operations of a correctional institution.
• Assist the Warden in developing and applying department policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee contract service providers and participate in department committees.
• Serve as a public relations contact for the facility as required.
