Qualifications

• High School or GED diploma and two years of experience as a correctional officer or equivalent.
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina CJET Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first-line supervisor overseeing a team of correctional officers and directing daily operations.
• Ensure all disciplinary actions and incident reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Conduct daily inspections of control rooms and review logs to maintain security procedures.
• Maintain and monitor employee timesheets and overtime reports for accuracy and accountability.
• Ensure staff adherence to established policies, procedures, and post orders.
• Maintain continuous accountability of offenders by monitoring movement and location at all times.
• Prepare and maintain accurate narratives and related documentation.
• Promote a positive and professional work environment by supporting staff and addressing operational needs effectively.
