Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Correctional Sergeant II (S) for Pamlico Correctional Institution. The role provides first-line supervision of Correctional Officer II staff in a medium custody facility, ensuring custody, security, and offender welfare while coordinating post assignments and shift coverage.

The position reports to a Correctional Lieutenant II and/or Correctional Housing Unit Manager, with opportunities to serve as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of facility operations.
• Knowledge of Prisons' Policy and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise officer activities and performance and ensure custody and welfare of offenders.
• Arrange work schedules to ensure shift coverage and follow procedures.
• Oversee post assignments and maintain security within the facility.
• May serve as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and report to higher supervision.
