NaphCare is seeking a Medical Records Clerk for the Day shift at the Jacksonville Pre-Trial Detention Center in Jacksonville, Florida. You will work alongside correctional officers and medical professionals to maintain and manage inmate medical records.

The role requires entering data into electronic systems, ensuring documentation accuracy, handling confidential information, and adhering to HIPAA and facility policies. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with a minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; adaptable to stressful environments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and legal requirements.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information into electronic systems and file documents, maintaining the filing system.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality of medical documentation.
• Handle requests for medical information from authorized parties while complying with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
• Manage incoming/outgoing mail, answer phones, and relay messages related to medical records.
• Create, update, and organize inmate medical records and assemble/disassemble files.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
