Job summary

State of Colorado is seeking a Correctional Support Trades Supervisor I to oversee food service operations in a CDOC facility. The role involves managing meal production for 600–7500 meals daily, supervising inmate workers, and ensuring safety, sanitation, and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities include training staff, overseeing inventory, and promoting inmates' community re-entry through professional kitchen operations. Strong leadership and adherence to standards are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Four (4) years of professional employment in food preparation, handling, or cooking, with substitutions as described.
• Supervisory experience, preferably with inmates or in correctional/hospitality settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned inmate workers and set work standards.
• Ensure safe, secure, and efficient meal service for large inmate populations.
• Monitor inventory, budget, waste, and food production within budget.
• Enforce sanitation, hygiene, and safety guidelines in all kitchen operations.
