The role requires open availability from early morning to evening, includes weekend and holiday shifts, and emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and adherence to food handling regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 21 years old.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food according to planned meal schedules and department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook and portion food per recipes and nutrition guidelines.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates.
• Stand, lift, bend and be on your feet for extended periods during shifts.
