Job summary

Regional One Health in Memphis, TN is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Detention unit to provide comprehensive nursing care in a high‑acuity inpatient setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while coordinating with physicians, families, and hospital teams.

The role requires TN RN licensure, BCLS certification, and experience in inpatient care across age groups as assigned. Night shift and non-travel expectations apply, with emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing school/program – Required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – Preferred.
• RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure to work in TN – Required upon hire.
• BCLS – Basic Life Support – Required upon hire.
• Experience in caring for patients in an inpatient setting, qualified to work with school-age, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric populations as specialty assignment dictates – Required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care according to patients’ medical regimen and nursing interventions appropriate for the patients’ conditions and established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Initiate assessment based on patient presenting problems, physician diagnosis, and functional health framework.
• Collect key information from patient, family, lab, and other medical reports.
• Ensure consents necessary for treatment/procedure are signed and identification procedures performed.
• Determine nursing diagnosis and priorities for care with special consideration for patient teaching, discharge planning, growth and development needs.
• Document assessment, including nursing diagnoses or other clinical judgments.
• Demonstrate knowledge, technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills to provide care, manage clinical competency and meet age-specific patient needs within the unit.
