Job description

Calbee America is growing, and we’re looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team! This role is critical in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across our multi-site manufacturing and corporate workforce.

What You’ll Do

• Manage bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple locations
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Own payroll processes, controls, and system optimization (Dayforce preferred)
• Reconcile payroll reports and support general ledger accuracy
• Serve as the point of contact for audits, tax notices, and payroll-related inquiries
• Support payroll-related 401(k) processes including deductions and contributions
• Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external vendors to ensure seamless operations
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and data integrity

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage & hour compliance
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Dayforce a plus)
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
