Job summary

Encore Capital Group in the United States seeks a Corporate Paralegal I to support its in-house Corporate Litigation team under attorney supervision. You will review and draft legal documents, manage discovery, settlements, and communications, and perform independent investigations with Office tools.

The role requires an Associate’s degree and 2+ years paralegal experience or equivalent; a paralegal certificate is preferred. Competitive benefits and opportunities will be provided.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; paralegal cert preferred or equivalent.
• 2+ years paralegal experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Support corporate litigation by assisting attorneys in defending matters and managing regulatory issues.
• Review legal documents (demands, pleadings, discovery) and draft summaries, settlements, and communications.
• Conduct independent research and investigations; run reports and create Excel-based reports.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and internal teams to gather information and resolve matters.
• Identify process improvements to ensure legal compliance and department efficiency.
