Job summary

Bank of Hope is seeking an Associate to support our Corporate Institutional Banking team. You will underwrite loan requests, perform financial modeling, and monitor credit performance across bilateral and syndication deals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance and/or accounting.
• 5+ years of relevant corporate banking experience; credit training preferred.
• Excellent financial modeling capability with understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and cash flow analysis.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work under time constraints.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships.
• Strong analytical and written skills and ability to comprehend complex financial matters.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial analysis of proposed transactions, including financial spreading and modeling, industry research and credit risk identification.
• Monitor existing loan portfolio for financial performance, covenant compliance and industry trends; complete quarterly reviews.
• Perform KYC/AML/OFAC due diligence and analysis for new clients.
• Collaborate with Loan Ops on deal closing and booking.
• Maintain loan documentation and files; manage documentation deadlines through life of facility.
• Assist with episodic projects including audits, policy and procedure reviews.
• Support loan syndication site for Lead Admin Agent deals.
