Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day staff, testing, and workflow in the laboratory. The role requires leadership in a multi-site lab setting and ensuring testing quality and regulatory compliance across divisions.

The supervisor will coordinate scheduling, mentor staff, and support CAP proficiency testing while contributing to quality improvement and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science from an accredited college/university with relevant major.
• National certification as a generalist Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist or equivalent (CAP/JCI preferred).
• Experience and leadership in a clinical or laboratory setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees laboratory staff, including hiring, transfers, promotions and performance reviews.
• Coordinates scheduling, staffing, and coverage for campus laboratories.
• Ensures compliance with CAP, Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.
