Job summary

Broward Health is seeking a Coordinator Surgical Scheduler to manage administrative tasks for surgical and procedural operations. The role supports specialties including Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Cardiology and ENT, coordinating schedules across hospitals and centers.

You will handle reminders, patient records, pre- and post-surgical data entry, and the preparation of surgery orders while ensuring privacy and access compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: Essential Associate degree.
• Experience: One year of experience in scheduling or administrative healthcare roles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical procedures with multiple hospitals and surgery centers.
• Schedule pre-operative testing and obtain required orders.
• Enter pre- and post-surgical data and maintain patient records.
• Schedule and track surgery appointments and reminders.
• Communicate surgery orders to physicians and teams; obtain necessary documentation.
• Provide training on access and privacy responsibilities to patients.

Summary

The Coordinator Surgical Scheduler performs administrative duties relevant to surgical/procedural operations. The Surgical Coordinator will work closely with specialty offices such as but not limited to Orthopedics Neurology Neurosurgery General Surgery Cardiology ENT. This position includes surgery scheduling appointment reminders keeping patient records entering pre- and post-surgical data and scheduling surgical equipment. Responsibilities include coordinating surgical procedures with multiple hospitals and surgery centers scheduling and obtaining pre-operative testing writing and communicating surgery orders and collecting necessary documentation for surgeries. Training and awareness – teaching and raising awareness of access and privacy responsibilities to the patient.
