Job summary

Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale is hiring a perioperative RN to work as a circulating nurse or scrub person. The position supports a wide range of specialty surgeries and requires solid patient advocacy in a high-demand environment.

Mandatory OR/surgery experience in hospital acute care and active Florida RN licensure. Association with AORN and CNOR certification are preferred; BLS/ACLS current are required. Equal opportunity employer.

Summary

Coordinates specialty services such as orthopedic ophthalmology neuro general GYN urology plastics ENT CV cardiac or minimally invasive surgery (including advanced da Vinci and Hybrid). Performs duties as a circulating nurse or scrub person. Assists in establishing and promoting clinical standards for the surgery service as well as staff education in surgery/AORN member standards to support patient care objectives.

Previous RN experience in a Hospital Acute Care setting within the past three years is mandatory along with OR/Surgery experience in all specialty areas. Must be able to circulate in all specialty areas scrubbing experience is a plus. Solid interpersonal skills and strong customer service skills required. Must be able to delegate and make decisions that are fair and in line with the vision and mission of BHMC. Ability to be a resource for staff and physicians with positive relationship building. Must be a patient advocate and be able to function in a highly intense environment.

Education

• Associate's degree in a Nursing Program from an Accredited School of Nursing

Experience

• Three years of related experience in covered specialties
