Job summary

Summa Health System seeks a Patient Access Coordinator for Barberton Hospital. This full-time role covers 1:00pm-9:00pm and includes supervising patient registration to ensure accurate, timely processing. You will coordinate with physicians, supervisors, and external sites to place patients properly, while managing staff schedules and staffing levels.

On-call Monday-Thursday is required. Qualified candidates have at least three years in patient access, medical records or related fields, with

Three (3) years' experience in patient access, medical records, insurance claim processing, customer service or related public contact, patient accounting, hospital or medical office work.
Supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversees day-to-day registration of patients to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Coordinates with physicians, clinical supervisors and external sites per hospital policies to assure proper patient placement.
Manages employee scheduling and ensures appropriate staffing levels.
On-call duties Monday through Thursday as part of the role.

Assumes responsibility for the day to day supervision for the efficient, orderly, accurate and timely registration of patients who receive service from a Summa Health System facility. Coordinates with physicians, clinical supervisors and external sites following hospital policies and procedures to assure proper placement of patients. Responsible for employee scheduling and ensuring appropriate staffing levels. On-call Monday Thursday. Post high school level course in business, healthcare, or closely related field of study.

Three (3) years experience in one of the following areas: patient access, medical records, insurance claim processing, customer service, or related public contact, patient accounting, hospital or medical office work. Supervisory experience is preferred.
