Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator at Barberton Hospital to manage patient registration and scheduling for the 1:00pm-9:00pm shift. The role requires coordinating with physicians, clinical supervisors and external sites to ensure accurate patient placement in line with hospital policies.

Candidates should have at least three years of related experience, and supervisory experience is preferred. On-call duties Monday through Thursday are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in patient access, medical records, insurance claim processing, customer service, or related public contact.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily registration of patients across Summa Health System facilities.

Summary

Assumes responsibility for the day today to supervision for the efficient, orderly, accurate and timely registration of patients who receive service from a Summa Health System facility. Coordinates with physicians, clinical supervisors and external sites following hospital policies and procedures to assure proper placement of patients. Responsible for employee scheduling and ensuring appropriate staffing levels. On-call Monday Thursday. Post high school level course in business, healthcare, or closely related field of study.

Three (3) years experience in one of the following areas: patient access, medical records, insurance claim processing, customer service, or related public contact, patient accounting, hospital or medical office work. Supervisory experience is preferred
