Job summary

Lone Star College Montgomery is seeking a Coordinator III, Advising & Instruction to oversee day-to-day and selective long-term operations within Continuing Education Workforce. You will lead planning, development, evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives across a large, possibly system-wide area.

Responsibilities include instructor hiring, student recruitment and advising, data management, and interdepartmental collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations of Continuing Education Workforce and acts as SME within area
  • Develops and maintains schedules, spreadsheets, databases and prepares reports for internal/external stakeholders
  • Enters and tracks data across documents and databases
  • Ensures compliance with local/state/federal processes and documentation
  • Supports instructor hiring, student recruitment, advising, placement and employer interaction
  • Creates evaluation methods and analyzes results for program improvement
  • Promotes CE programs at community events and via catalogs, advertising and networking
  • Leads special projects and related duties as assigned
  • Collaborates with Campus CE Directors for ongoing program success

Job Description
Purpose and Scope

The Coordinator III, Advising & Instruction provides oversightand facilitation of day-to-day and some long-term operations withina large and/or System-wide area of specialty, playing a strong rolein leading and planning, development, evaluation and improvement.Assigned area and responsibilities will be extensive and/or highlyspecialized. May be responsible for the success of assigned area,ensuring smooth and efficient operations as well as compliance withpolicies, procedures and a variety of local, state and federalregulations. Coordinates logistics, services and supportsurrounding significant/diverse programs or departments. Makes andcommunicates process decisions based on best practices.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Oversees daily and some long-term operations of ContinuingEducation Workforce, including personnel. Actively maintainsup-to-date knowledge of area and acts as a Subject Matter Expertwithin area and as a point of contact and liaison for internal andexternal constituents
  2. Performs research relevant to area of specialty. Develops,monitors and maintains a variety of schedules, spreadsheets,databases, reports, and presents findings to internal/externalconstituents (may include LSC Managers/Executives, communitymembers, and/or outside groups and organizations)
  3. Enters, tracks and maintains a variety of data, includingdocuments, spreadsheets and databases
  4. May be responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance withlocal/state/federal complianc eof processes and documentationwithin assigned area
  5. Responsible for on-going activities critical to the programssuch as instructor hiring and assignments, student recruitment,student advising, student placement and follow-up,industry/employer interaction and advisory committees
  6. Creates methods of evaluation of assigned area. Analyzesresults and makes recommendations for revisions to objectives andstrategies, with a focus on continuous program improvement.Takespart (or takes Lead) in developing new programs.
  7. Promote CE programs within the community by serving as acollege representative at various community events, and throughcatalog distribution, advertising, and networking under oversightof the Campus CE Directors
  8. Takes part in and/or leads special projects as needed
  9. Responsible for other reasonable related duties asassigned

Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

Work Schedule & Conditions
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
  • Flexible hours, typically day, but involves nights and weekendsas necessary

Salary

Hiring salary range is $48,152 - $55, 375

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all postedfull-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fallin that range is determined by your related experience andeducation. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone StarCollege, the resume submitted in the application process will beutilized to calculate your salary offer.
