Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes, a 106-bed skilled nursing facility, seeks a Cook Supervisor to oversee the dietary team and ensure meals meet residents' needs. The role involves supervising staff, planning production, and managing purchases while delivering quality meals within budget.

Candidates should have Serv Safe certification and hospital/long-term care experience. The position is on-site with potential 32- or 24-hour shifts and per diem opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification.
• Unloads and stocks groceries; lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Reads, writes and understands English; performs basic math and records data.
• Attention to detail; good follow-through and prioritization.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.
• Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
• Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.
• Remains calm in stressful situations.
• Patient, tactful, enthusiastic with residents.
• Communicates professionally with residents, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dietary department personnel and ensures policy compliance.
• Prepares and serves meals according to resident diet orders.
• Assists with production planning; forecasts needs and develops recipes.
• Assists with purchasing and storage of food and equipment.
• Ensures department produces high-quality meals within budget.
• Responds to residents’ requests on short notice; participates in events.
