Coast Guard Exchange (USCGCSC) in Kodiak, AK is seeking a Cook-Mixed Duties-04 to support MWR Food and Beverage operations. You will assist in preparing, serving, and presenting food and beverages, while maintaining cleanliness and inventory.

Qualifications

• One year work experience in a food service facility.
• Ability to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
• Basic food preparation and handling techniques.
• Knowledge of basic sanitation principles in handling and serving food.
• Capability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach.
• Ability to read and understand written material, follow instructions.
• Must obtain a Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of appointment.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operations of MWR Food and Beverage businesses, to create an attractive and friendly environment, and to maintain product quality, cleanliness, and inventory.
• Operate Point of Sale register and handle payments (cash, credit cards, etc.).
• Prepare pizzas and daily lunch specials using a hot grill; slice meats and prepare sandwiches.
• Prepare and serve beverages, desserts, and coffee.
• Maintain clean kitchen and dining areas; perform basic equipment cleaning and sanitation.
