Job summary

MWR Ketchikan Crows Nest in Ketchikan, AK is seeking a Cook-05 to prepare a variety of menu items, operate kitchen equipment, and ensure food safety and quality. You will cook burgers, eggs, salads, and desserts, monitor temperatures, and help with inventory.

Qualified applicants will have experience with recipes, basic arithmetic, and a Food Handler's Certificate. Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in methods and procedures relating to food preparation, presentation, reading and following recipes.
• Experience following oral and written instructions and performing simple arithmetic.
• Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items such as hamburgers, grilled sandwiches, eggs, quick meals, cold sandwiches and salads.
• Operates kitchen equipment and maintains proper food temperatures and safety standards.
• Maintains rotation of food inventories and keeps work areas clean and organized.
