Job summary

Navion Senior Solutions in Shelby seeks a dedicated Cook to prepare delicious meals, collaborate with the dietary team, and create a welcoming dining experience for residents. You’ll help ensure meals are fresh, appealing, and served with care. This is a Part-Time weekend position (Saturdays and Sundays) with two shifts: 6:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

and 12:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m. Tapcheck payroll option is available for earned wages.

Qualifications

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate or is able to participate in food service sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• One year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets.
• Must be 16 years or older; in NC 18+ for operating power-driven machines.
• Three years' experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without safety/health threats.
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Know and apply safety and sanitary requirements.
• Learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Be pleasant, friendly and helpful to ensure proper and timely service.
• Follow dress requirements and maintain neat appearance.

• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc.
• Three years' experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
