Job summary

Pinewood Square, a Navion Senior Living community in Goose Creek, SC, is seeking a Cook who enjoys preparing meals, working with a team, and making a positive impact on residents. You will help prepare and serve fresh, appealing meals in a welcoming dining environment.

This full-time role requires at least 1 year of senior housing cooking experience and familiarity with DPH regulations. Weekend work is required (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

Qualifications

• ServSafe food safety knowledge preferred.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• One year of job-related experience in food preparation and menu items.
• Age requirements: 16+ (18+ for certain equipment in NC).
• Three years in healthcare, hospitality, or service preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in a care-resident environment and foster a team.
• Ability to follow dress and safety guidelines.

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc.
• Three years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
