Job summary

Navion Senior Living’s Mebane Ridge community is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve fresh, appealing meals and contribute to a welcoming dining experience for residents.

The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety guidelines, and ability to follow instructions for quality, timely service. Shift times are 6:30AM–1:30PM or 1:30PM–8PM; a ServSafe certification or training is preferred, with growth opportunities in an aligned healthcare dining team.

Qualifications

• Current ServSafe certificate or able to participate in sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• One year of job-related experience including food preparation and full menu items.
• Must be 16+ (NC: 18+ if operating power-driven machines).
• Three years of experience in healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
• Maintain knowledge of safety and sanitary requirements.
• Learn basic tasks and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Provide pleasant, friendly and helpful service.
• Follow dress requirements and maintain good grooming.

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc.
• Three years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
