Job summary

Navion Senior Living's Northstar Square in Kennesaw, GA is seeking a cook to prepare appetizing meals, work with a team, and create a welcoming dining experience for residents. This PRN role offers flexible hours and opportunities to contribute to a high-quality dining program.

This position requires at least 1 year of cooking experience in senior housing, familiarity with safety and sanitation rules, and a ServSafe certificate or plan.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certificate required or able to participate in food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• One year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets.
• Must be 16 years or older (18+ if operating power-driven machines in NC).
• Three years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• Culinary arts experience preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without safety/health threats.
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Ability to prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitary requirements.
• Ability to learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instruction.
• Pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times ensuring proper and timely service.
