Job summary

American Senior Communities’ Heritage House in Connersville, IN is seeking a full-time Cook for day shifts to prepare nutritious meals for residents while maintaining high sanitation standards. Responsibilities include following recipes, leading kitchen tasks, and ensuring a clean work area.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and ServeSafe certification; sanitation certification and healthcare experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 years related experience.
• ServeSafe Certification required.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification; prior institutional/healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares meals meeting residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks and prepares palatable, nutritious meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, trays, cleaning and storage.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during food prep and service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies per procedures and regulations.
