Job summary

American Senior Communities seeks a Cook to join the Springs Valley Meadows culinary team in Indiana. You will prepare meals following menus to meet residents' nutritional needs and lead kitchen staff in food preparation, assembly, cleaning, and storage, while maintaining high sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include adhering to recipes, cooking in required quantities, and ensuring safety and compliance with state and federal regulations. Prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years related experience or equivalent.
• Preferred sanitation/food handling certification.
• Preferred institutional/healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents' nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares palatable, nutritious meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during preparation and service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies in accordance with procedures and regulations.
