Job summary

NexCare Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Cook to join our EPIC Award Winning team. You will prepare meals for residents, collaborate with the Dietary Director, and ensure food safety and portion control.

This full-time role offers starting wages of $17.00–$17.85 per hour, with rotating day shifts and comprehensive benefits including medical, PTO, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, disability and life insurance, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe certification required or preferred.
• Basic computer skills for scheduling and communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents following portion control procedures and sanitary regulations.
• Collaborate with Dietary Director to create and review menus.
• Ensure meals are prepared safely and meet established policies and procedures.

Our cooks prepare amazing and nourishing meals for our residents and ensure the highest quality standards of foodservice and the best culinary experience is provided at all times.

They work closely with the Dietary Director to create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure the meals are prepared in accordance with established portion control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies and procedures.

You will earn: $17.85 to start

• Starting wages $17.00 per hour!

We can work with your scheduling needs:

What you will need to be part of ourEPICteam:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe certified.
• Basic Computer Skills
• At least 1 year of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with strong knowledge of food procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering Excellent, Passionate, Innovative care!
• You are a team player, dedicated to doing what it takes to support your team members and get the job done.
